Cincinnati Distilling named #2 whiskey distillery in the United States at US Open and wins multiple medals

CINCINNATI - The results for the 2022 US Open Whiskey and Spirits Competition have been released and Cincinnati Distilling took home a lot of hardware. Cincinnati Distilling was named the #2 top whiskey distilleries in the country for the second year in a row. To achieve this honor they earned a total of 7 medals.

They won gold for their Baltic Porter Cask Finished Bourbon, which joins their other gold medal winning cask bourbons from years past, and their Ohio Malt Whiskey which is distilled from beer from March First, FigLeaf and Woodburn Brewing.

Silver Medals were awarded for their Camp Dennison Bourbon, Peanut Butter Whiskey and Code 4 Blueberry Donut Whiskey which was a collaboration with the Butler County FOP Lodge 101. Taking up the back of the pack are a pair of bronze medals for their Ohio Straight Bourbon and Single Barrel Straight Whiskey.

Stillwrights Distilling, who Cincinnati Distilling acquired last year, earned a silver medal for their Apple Pie Moonshine and a bronze medal for their Spiced Rum bringing the total medal count up to 9 for the family of brands.

“It’s amazing to get recognition for our love of distilling year after year” Josh Engel, Cincinnati Distilling spokesperson said. “We’ve been in the top 5 distilleries in the country in the US Open for 3 years now and we plan to continue producing amazing spirits and push the envelope even further going forward. Our team is beyond honored and ecstatic for bringing home 9 total medals this year.”

Cincinnati Distilling plans to open their new standalone distillery in Milford this summer with a full scale production facility, tasting room and taproom, event center, restaurant, and rooftop bar.
